Editor's Review of the 1208
The Nokia 1208 is an easy-to-use candybar handset, ideal for those after a handset equipped with basic phone functionality, or for those looking for a spare for use at the weekend.
It may be cheap, but the 1208 is a stylish piece of kit, sporting a textured matte-black casing with coloured accents on its rubberised keys. It measures in at a fairly compact 102 x 44.1 x 17.5mm too, so it should squeeze in to the tightest of jean pockets.
On the feature front, there's a compact 1.5-inch (96 x 58) CSTN screen, which can be personalised with the included themes and colourful wallpapers. This display comes coupled with an as-basic-as-they come alphanumeric keyboard, alongside an onboard navigation key and shortcut buttons.
Beyond it's ability to call and send texts, there's not much else to say about the 1208. There's no media player, web browser or even support for sending emails, but you will find a flashlight, organizer and 3 embedded games. Lurking under the hood there's also a 700mAh battery, promising up to 7 hours of talk time.
The Nokia 1208 is by no means a phone worth getting excited about, but it's a great little handset for doing the basics.
