Editor's Review of the 2330 Classic
The Nokia 2330 is the latest in a long line of affordable, fuss-free phones from Nokia, offering the Finns' classic design and simple features. Still, with so many handsets with similar specs, will Nokia's latest handset stand out from the crowd?
The handset's appearance is a throwback to the 90s, yet is arguably one of its stand out features. It's perfectly simply, and with measurements of just 107 x 46 x 13.8mm, it won't go creating any unsightly buldges. As you'd expect, it's just as light too, although the casing feels durable and withstanding of tumbles.
Within its casing sits a 1.8-inch non-touchscreen display, coupled with a comfortable alphanumeric keypad, idea for both the clumsiest of digits and the speediest of texters. In the center you'll find a navigation pad, offering easy navigation around the straightforward interface.
In terms of media, you'll find a very basic VGA-resolution camera on its rear. While pictures aren't of the highest-quality, the handset takes snaps without being over run with cutting-edge technology. There's also video functionality onboard, which can take advantage of 4x digital zoom, automatic scene modes and a host of colour-editing settings.
It manages to put in a decent performance on the music-front, too. The onboard music player is effortlessly simple, offering "drag and drop" functionality and easy to use controls. However, there's only 32MB of onboard storage, so you'll struggle to store more than 10 tracks at once. Still, as a phone aimed at making communication simple, we doubt this'll niff too many customers.
Additional features include GPRS Internet speeds, Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in FM radio, and a powerful 1020mAh battery promising up to 240 hours of constant talk-time.
With its bargain price-tag and fundamental features, it's hard to criticise the Nokia 2330 Classic. Although it's let down with its lackluster camera and lack of memory, it's well worth considering if you want a fuss free phone. After all, it is a Classic.
