Editor's Review of the 3600 Slide
Nokia is well known for its easy to use, functional handsets, and the 3600 Slide is no exception.
Unlike the majority of Nokia's cheap and cheerful handsets, the 3600 Slide - as its name suggests - touts a slide out alphanumeric keypad. As well as making the pint-sized phone even more pocket friendly, this ideally-sized keypad is great for bashing out messages at speed. This keyboard comes paired with a 2-inch (240 x 320) colour display and a four-way navigation key, which makes it simple to get to the handset's main features.
Despite the mobile's bargain price-tag, the 3600 Slide packs features beyond functionality to call and text, including a decent 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, and the ability to record VGA footage - albeit noisy - at 15 frames per second.
Unfortunately there's no 3G or WiFi onboard, despite the phones pre-loaded Opera Mini browser and support for sending emails. This means those of you who frantically update Facebook and Twitter may become infuriated by the handset's slow GPRS speeds, and browsing the web can prove a bit of a chore.
Another major letdown of the 3600 Slide is its poor battery life, which we regard as one of the most important features of a simplistic mobile. The handset features a 860mAh battery, which although promises 280 hours on stand-by, struggled to stretch out to last a full day.
For those after a stylish little mobile for sending texts and making calls, the Nokia 3600 Slide will not disappoint. However, despite touting a decent camera, the rest of the phone's features proved a bit of a letdown, especially that shoddy battery.
