The Nokia 6600 Slide is another 3G enabled handset from the Finnish manufacturer, it's sliding form factor allowing you to use the device in both open and close positions.

The handset measures in at 90 x 45 x 14mm, and weight 110g, makng it sturdy and comfortable to hold. Within its glossing casing is a 2.2 inch colour display, which boasts a 320 x 240 pixel resolution. Underneath the screen is a navigation tool, which stands out with its glowing blue edges, tying in nicely with the backlit alphanumeric keypad, which is revealed once the handset is slide open.

When it comes to messaging, the Nokia 6600 Slide supports SMS and MMS messaging. Thanks to its web connectivity, the handset also offers Intant Messaging via MSN, AOL, ICQ and Yahoo, alongside a built-in email client with attachment support. With 3G connectivity onboard, Internet savvy 6600 Slide owners can take advantage of the handset's Opera web browser to check Facebook and Twitter updates.

The handset supports file transfers with any compatible device through micro USB connection or wireless Bluetooth, which works to up to a 10-metre distance. Users of the Nokia 6600 Slide will be able to make data and file transfer rates with the EDGE technology that gives the handset its higher transfer speed. Moreover, being a 3G mobile phone, the Nokia 6600 Slide supports fast connectivity and multitasking features.

The Nokia 6600 comes equipped with various features, including a host of organization tools such as an alarm, world clock, calculator, calendar and currency convertor. The handset also supports Nokia Maps, which can be used to guide you to a specific location, and is quick to load thanks to the onboard 3G.

Multimedia features include a 3.2 megapixel camera, which comes complete with 8x digital zoom and dual LED flash, which can be used to brighten up dull environments. The snapper is also capable of recording video footage at 15 frames per second in VGA and QVGA. Users ae also able to play videos in H.263 and 3GPP formats, aswell as streaming clips in H.264 and MP4. The handset comes with a dedicated camera key, and supports Flash Lite 3.0, for viewing flash videos while on the web.

The Nokia 6600 Slide also has a music player that supports WMA, MP3, AAC, eAAC, WMA and MP4 music formats. The handset ensures musically inclined users to be equally entertained with the integrated FM radio feature for listening to on-air music and news reports. Java games have also been pre-installed in the Nokia 6600 Slide for entertainment purposes. Users can also download other games onto the 6600 Slide through the Web connectivity option that the handset offers.

The Nokia 6600 offers an internal storage capacity of 20 Megabytes, and an added 512 Megabytes when used with the MicroSD card. Users can utilize the Nokia 6600 Slide for three hours of talk time. It can last for about 240 hours on standby, when used with a full battery.

Users of the Nokia 6600 appreciate the sleek yet simple layout of the handset, while some complain that its speaker tends to make a popping-like sound when it is set to vibrate and ring. Also, the backlight remains for seconds, but cannot be tweaked since the handset no settings for time adjustment. Some also observe that the keypad lights of the Nokia 6600 Slide, as well as its sensors, can become intermittent. The mobile phone is also prone to smudges, as it captures fingerprints rather clearly.
