Donning either a hot pink or graphite coloured casing, the Nokia 7020 is a compact handset that measures 91.2 x 46.7 x 17.3 millimetres and weighs 86.2 grams including its fitted battery. When in closed position, this handset's 34.54-millimetre external mono screen displays images at a resolution of 60 x 240 pixels. The Nokia 7020 also offers a stardust effect and is tap activated. Opening this mobile phone exhibits an internal QVGA screen that measures 55.88 millimetres and displays graphics in 262,000 colours in 320 x 240 pixels. Right below the internal screen is a set of well spaced keys and a user friendly navigation control. Users may customise this mobile phone through a selection of pre-set ringtones in MP3, AAC, MIDI and polyphonic formats.

As a quad band handset, the Nokia 7020 supports GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 networks. Its network reach, however, may be fully dependent on its user's service provider. This handset also comes with the Flight Mode option which frequent travellers will find useful.

The World Wide Web is a few clicks away with this mobile phone's Opera Mini Browser that offers users an HTML, XHTML and WML Internet experience. File sharing with compatible scanners, printers, personal computers, laptops or other handsets is convenient with the integrated micro USB facility. Users will also find its data transfers a breeze with the integrated Bluetooth technology that supports wireless file sharing. This handset comes with EDGE and GPRS technologies that boost file transfer and Internet downloading rates.

This handset offers customary SMS or text messaging, EMS or enhanced messaging and MMS or multimedia messaging services. It also enables users to communicate with their contacts through the instant messaging service via Windows Live. This handset allows users to access their e-mail accounts, and send or receive e-mails with attachments through IMAP, POP and SMTP servers.

More than a communication device, this mobile phone makes an efficient virtual assistant. It has a phone book that stores 1,500 entries, calendar, clock, stopwatch, countdown timer, calculator and currency converter. This handset also comes with features that make taking and making calls convenient, such as a speaker phone, conference call option and call log selection that records dialled, missed and received calls. The Nokia 7020 also comes with an integrated GPS facility that supports Nokia Maps.

This mobile phone is richly endowed with fun features to keep users entertained. It has an integrated 2-Megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom and CMOS sensor for optimal photo captures. Users may utilise its imaging enhancement options including Capture Mode with Still, Sequence and Self Timer selections, as well as Auto, Daylight, Incandescent and Fluorescent selections under the White Balance option. Users may also take pictures in landscape or portrait modes. This integrated camera also doubles as a portable video recording device that takes footages at a speed of 30 frames per second. Its 4x digital video zoom features ensures precise video outputs. Users will also enjoy tweaking their videos to perfection with the White Balance features and Colour Tone video features. This mobile phone also supports video streaming, and plays footages in MP4, H264, H263, 3GP and WMV formats. This handset has a dedicated camera button for added ease of use.

Music lovers will enjoy its built-in music player that supports MP3, AAC, WMA and Midi formats. Through its FM radio facility with RDS, this handset enables users to enjoy their favourite music on their preferred radio stations while gaining access to information relating to current events, sports or weather news. This mobile phone also supports voice and sound recording. Mobile gamers will also enjoy this handset's pre-installed games in Java format. It also supports downloading of games from the Internet.

The Nokia 7020 offers users 45 Megabytes of internal space for storage of photos, videos and other files. This handset is also capable of supporting up to 16 Gigabytes of data through a microSD memory card. Users will enjoy communicating with their contacts for 4.5 hours, or an equivalent of 550 hours of standby time.

Unhappy owners lament that contrary to its claim, this handset suffers from poor battery life. It is also being criticised for its feminine look that makes it seem like a ladies' handset. Satisfied users, on the other hand, commend the Nokia 7020 for being a handy, practical yet fun handset that addresses modern mobile user's needs.
