The O2 XDA Ignito is a block-type mobile phone that has the measurements of 102 x 51 x 11.5 millimetres and the weight of 110 grams with fitted battery. The front portion of the O2 XDA Ignito is dominated by a 71.12-millimetre TFT display that functions as a touch-sensitive screen. The touchscreen showcases 65,000 brilliant colours in a screen resolution of 480 x 460 pixels. It is characterised by a TouchFLO 3D technology that allows navigation of menus through finger swipes. The O2 XDA Ignito's screen also comes with an accelerometer sensor for an auto-rotation system. Moreover, it is equipped with handwriting recognition support.

To make the O2 XDA Ignito more personal and interesting, users may choose from 40 polyphonic ringtones that are pre-installed in the mobile phone. Downloaded MP3, WAV and WMA ringtones are also supported by the O2 XDA Ignito.

The O2 XDA Ignito operates as a triband mobile phone that works over the frequencies of GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900, as well as HSDPA 2100. Internet connectivity is possible with the O2 XDA Ignito's WAP 2.0 browser that displays Web sites on the handset in XHTML and HTML formats. The XDA Ignito also comes with a WiFi support to allow on-the-go users to access the Web through the O2 XDA Ignito in certain hotspots.

Users can choose to utilize the O2 XDA Ignito's miniUSB support or the wireless Bluetooth version 2.0 with an integrated A2DP technology during file sharing or data transfers with other compatible devices such as a printer, a computer and a laptop. The O2 XDA Ignito works on dual-band connectivity through HSDPA, effecting data transfers in a speed of 7.2 Mbps. As the O2 XDA Ignito is powered by GPRS and WLAN, faster downloads and file transfers are assured.

The O2 XDA Ignito allows users to send and receive SMS or text messages and MMS or multimedia messages. Owing to the O2 XDA Ignito's Web connectivity, the handset also offers on-device instant messaging and supports e-mail clients. The O2 XDA Ignito is compatible with YouTube and allows easy access to the Web site. Additionally, users can view Google Maps right on the O2 XDA Ignito. A GPS system is also supported by the mobile phone, to help users in directions to certain locations that are unfamiliar to them.

The mobile phone runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile Professional version 6.1. In this regard, the O2 XDA Ignito is integrated with Pocket Office applications, and allows users to view their files in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and PDF viewer.

Business-inclined users of the O2 XDA Ignito will find the mobile phone valuable with its line-up of organiser features. As basics, the mobile phone has a phonebook that allows entry of multiple contact numbers per person, a to-do list, a calculator, a calendar, a vibrating alert and an alarm clock to assist its busy owners. For a better experience in making or taking calls, the O2 XDA Ignito is equipped with the hands-free system, and supports voice dialling for convenient and urgent calls.

The O2 XDA Ignito is equipped with a built-in 3.15-Megapixel camera that takes pictures and shoots moving videos over a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The O2 XDA Ignito's camera allows flawless pictures and videos with its auto-focus feature.

Besides the camera as a highlight feature, users will be able to listen to their favourite music through the media player. They can also choose to check their favourite tracks over an integrated FM radio. A headset jack comes with the O2 XDA Ignito, which is used for audio listening. Similarly, gaming becomes a habit with the O2 XDA Ignito, as it has pre-installed motion-based games in Java format. The handset also allows downloaded Java games.

The O2 XDA Ignito Li-Po battery with amperage of 900 mAh, allows users to enjoy the mobile phone for a maximum of 5.5 hours of talk time. When the handset is on standby, it stays up for approximately 285 hours.

Users have attested that while it is essentially a small mobile phone, it is impressive given its top-of-the-line functionalities. Others have pointed out, however, that the handset has the tendency to last in less time than what it promises, notably when videos are being viewed on YouTube.
