Promising to deliver high-end features on a budget, the San Francisco 2 touts a 3.5-inch touchscreen, Android 2.3 and a 5MP camera
A Preview of the Orange San Francisco 2
The long-awaited successor - also made by ZTE - arrives upgraded to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, compared to the original's dated Android 2.1 software. This will equip the phone with a redesigned interface, a more intuitive onscreen keypad, one-touch word selection copy and paste and improved speed and power management. Like the original San Francisco, however, it'll come equipped with the usual array of pre-installed Orange apps, such as Orange Wednesdays and Orange Apps.
Another stand-out features is the handset's 3.5-inch display, the same as the original with an identical 480 x 800 resolution. The comes powered by a boosted 800MHz single-core processor too, compared to it's sibling 600MHz effort. The design of the device has also been changed, and looks to sport a slimmer, blacker and more-stylish chassis. If anything like the original San Francisco, we're assuming it'll also be available in White.
Other specifications, although not officially confirmed by Orange, include; a 5 megapixel primary camera with autofocus and video capture, a front-facing videocall camera, up to 32GB of expandable memory, and HSDPA and WiFI connectivity.
Availability details for the Orange San Francisco II are still to be confirmed.
A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
