Wrapped in a black casing with either bright red or subtle blue highlights, the Samsung Omnia Lite is an attractive Smartphone packed with communication and entertainment tools to cater to modern users' needs. Also tagged as the Samsung B7300, it forms part of Samsung's classy Omnia line-up, which consists of Samsung B7320 Omnia Pro and the Samsung B7610 Omnia Pro. It has the full measurements of 107 x 51.8 x 12.9 millimetres and tips the scale at 103 grams including its fitted standard battery. True to its name, this mobile phone feels solid to the touch but does not weigh down its users.

The Samsung Omnia Lite works on Microsoft Windows Mobile version 6.1 Professional operating system. It flaunts a TouchWiz 2.0 user interface, complete with a full set of touch screen navigation controls. Its TFT touch screen measures 76.2 millimetres which displays picture wallpapers in 65,000 colours and provides a 240 x 400 resolution. This Smartphone offers a selection of ringtones in polyphonic, MP3 and WAV formats.

The Samsung Omnia Lite works on GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900, as well as HSDPA 900 and 2100. As a quad band handset, it makes a good companion for frequently travelling users. Its network reach, however, is fully dependent on its user's service provider. This mobile phone comes with XHTML and HTML WAP 2.0 Web browser that enables users to navigate the World Wide Web and access their favourite Web sites. With this handset's WLAN Wi-Fi support, on-the-go users can explore the Internet in designated hotspots.

Files in this mobile phone may be shared with or transferred to compatible devices such as other handsets, printers, scanners, personal computers and laptops, through this handset's micro USB and wireless Bluetooth support with A2DP. This mobile phone works on GPRS and EDGE technology, which ensures faster Web downloading and data transfers. Powered by 3G HSDPA technology, the Samsung Omnia Lite promises to be a multi-tasking communication tool.

This handset offers standard SMS or text messaging with Predictive Text feature, as well as MMS or multimedia messaging service. It also enables users to chat with their contacts through the instant messaging feature. This mobile phone's Internet connectivity allows access to, composition or sending of email messages.

Keeping it user's schedules organised, this handset comes with a calendar, a phonebook, a clock, an alarm clock, a calculator and a document viewer that supports widely accepted file formats. It also offers hassle-free call features, including voice dialling, speaker phone and conference call support. This handset is also installed with A-GPS navigation facility which answers mapping needs and serves as users' locator in unfamiliar territories.

Although downright practical, this mobile phone does not fail to entertain. Delighting photo buffs is this handset's top-of-the-line imaging features. It flaunts a 3.1-Megapixel camera complete with auto focus, Xenon flash and smile detection to capture subjects more precisely. It also records footages at 30 frames per second, and plays videos on its touch-sensitive screen in MPEG4, H264, H263, DivX, XviD and WMV9 formats. This handset is also equipped with a second camera for 3G video calling purposes.

This mobile phone also pleases music lovers. A pre-installed music player that supports MP3, AAC and WMA audio formats will keep users entertained. To give users an alternative listening experience, Samsung has installed in this handset an FM radio feature support complete with RDS, which enables users to receive from their preferred radio stations information relating to current events, weather or sports while enjoying their favourite tunes. This handset takes mobile phone entertainment to the next level with its preloaded games that users can enjoy. It also allows downloading of games from Internet sources.

This handset offers users an internal memory of 250 Megabytes. To accommodate more data including still photos, footages, music files and downloaded games, the storage capacity is expandable to up to 32 Gigabytes through the use of a MicroSD memory card.

Unsatisfied observers note that this mobile phone tends to have memory errors, and requires a rather complex MMS set-up. Satisfied users, on the other hand, attest that the Samsung Omnia Lite's offers a responsive user interface that is easy to familiarise. Its connectivity options are reportedly without unneeded lag issues.
