Samsung E250

Editor's Review of the E250

The Samsung E250 is a Samsung phone meant for the youth to love. It is generally a 2G Network connected phone with a GSM 900/1800/1900. Samsung released the phone in October 2006 and it is still available in the market today. This phone is quite durable but rough hands still need to take a little precaution since it is quite small and thin and very prone to drops because of its smooth finish.

The E250 has dimensions of 99.5 mm by 49.5 mm by 14.1 mm and it weighs only at 80 grams. It is a TFT (Thin Film Transistor) phone and it displays 65k of colors, which is actually its biggest disadvantage. It could show up to 128 by 160 pixels or 32 mm by 40 mm. It is a polyphonic phone with 64 channels and it could also store in MP3 songs for you to listen to. It has a memory card slot for a microSD and it has a 10 MB shared memory, which is a good thing as it allows fast processing of data in the phone so it doesn't experience hang ups. It has a phonebook memory which could hold up to 1000 phone numbers and you could even identify them with a pictures when they call or text you. It could record 30 missed calls, 30 received calls and 30 dialed numbers in its call records. With its class 10 GPRS system, internet connectivity on the phone runs at around 32 to 48 kbps, and it can also be used as a modem with its EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution) capability. Data transfer and sharing is made easier with its USB and Bluetooth version 2.0 with A2DP. Its batteries could last 250 hours in stand-by time and up to 5 hours in talk time.

Aside from the Samsung E250's style and beauty, you could make sure that this mobile phone is really worth your money. The Samsung E250 is the very first sliding phone that Samsung made and since it is the first, Samsung made sure that you would get the most on this slim phone. Like any basic phone, it could send short messages also known as the SMS, and it sends and receives multimedia through multimedia messaging. It could also send EMS and you could connect it in the internet to send or read your emails. Its browser, like the older models, is the WAP 2.0/xHTML so whether you previously owned an Ericsson, a Nokia or a Motorola, you would find it easy to manage Samsung E250's browser. It already has a couple of pre-installed games, and you can also download from the internet if you want more. It has a Java MIDP 2.0 so it would be easier and faster for you to download games and other programs for your computer.

If you are into style and fashion, then you will be happy to know that this phone comes in two colors - black and silver. Aside from its MP3 player, the media player is also compatible with AAC or AAC+ file types. If you ever felt bored with your music, or if ever you haven't been able to transfer your favorite songs on the then the Samsung E250's FM radio would just perk your phone up. It has a T9 text input, which is really helpful when you are texting. It has an organizer to help you fix up your schedule. It has a built in hands free feature so you wouldn't need a headset when you are listening to your music or to the radio. Its greatest feature is probably the voice memo which enables you to record events and appointments using voice command.

Of course, like any gadget out on the market today, the Samsung E250 is no perfect technology. For one, a lot of users have complained about the phone's battery life. Despite the fact that it's supposed to last for 5 hours some users say it just dies out, even if you aren't using it. But other than that, they said that the phone is terrific.

I got the samsung e250 last year for a reasonable price (its gone down alot since then), i found it really easy to use and the camera was ok. The memory is bad but you can buy memory card for about £15, I have dropped it many times but it has'nt yet broke, I have the lilac one and i found that it scratches really easy. Email is really hard to setup i have tried on numerous occasions and have not been able to do it. The only other thing is that the games are only trials and the battery goes really easily. I would recommend this phone. =D

I upgraded my Nokia N95 to the Samsung E250 and was I disappointed !! No GPS, no 5-megapixel camera, no 8GB memory. I mean, this does not hold a candle to the N95 which went rather well with my BMW 5-series. Now, I want to get the 8GB iPhone instead of the E250 and go for the Aston Martin as well. You only live once.

Hi
I work as a rehabilitation worker with people who have visual impairments. i recently went to visit a client who showed me his phone the Samsung E250. Being visually impaired can make it difficult to use a mobile as technology has made everything smaller. But he was managing very well with the Samsung E250 as he could change the colour of the font and this can make a great difference for certain eye conditions. Also he was using the setting for larger text so this ment he could see what he was writing.
This made me look up the details of this phone so I can share the information with other visually impaired clients.
Good -one Samsung.

I think the Samsung E250 Lilac is a great phone. I took out a 12 month contract on one, I find it very easy to use and it fits nice and snug into my top pocket. The only problem now is that I have to buy myself another one as when I was gardening the other day I took of my coat and my poor phone feel into a flower pot full of water and now is doesn't work hence having to by a new Samsung E250 Lilac.

I got this phone 8 months ago!

I would recommend it to all! :)
With a memory card it has a lot of memory and although the camera is only VGA, it is still good quality! =)

The battery lasted me for about 1-2 days depending on usage, which wasn't too bad, considering the last phone I had (A Panasonic GD 87) battery only lasted half a day

The only draw back is the fact that it scratches very easily when dropped and mine broke when I dropped it (But that was 'cause it dropped while I was running, and it was a hard drop)

Overall, it is a very good phone! =)

THIS IS A GOOD PHONE, VERY EASY TO USE ALTHOUGH THE MEMORY ON THE PHONE ALONE ISNT THAT GREAT, BUT I SUPPOSE A MEMORY CARD IS ALWAYS A GOOD THING....

CHUFFED WITH THE PHONE TBH!!

The Samsung E250 is very light in weight and slim the phone started to go sluggish but once I get a memory card for it,it should start to go faster the only regret that I have is that I wish I had got a Vodafone 810 I got that for my wife and its fantastic

I got this phone for xmas n I love it! It looks gr8! I thought it was going to be quite bulky when I first got it but when I got it I realised it is very slick n slim, much beter than I expected! However it is beginin 2 get a bit slow and without the memory card the memroy is pretty useless! But you can purchase a realy good value for money memory card from the car phone warehouse for only £14! I LOVE THIS PHONE, YOU SHOULD GET IT!
