We may already have the Galaxy Ace Plus, but Samsung has announced another upgraded Galaxy Ace model: the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2.

Samsung's latest addition is more high-end that its mid-range siblings, packing an impressive 800MHz dual-core processor and a 3.8-inch WVGA (480 x 800) PLS TFT display. This screen comes running Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread software paired with Samsung's TouchWiz user interface, equipping the phone with multiple customisable homescreens, Samsung Hubs and Samsung ChatON - a multi-platform instant messenger.

Like the original, the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 touts a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, although this arrive equipped with an LED flash and HD video smarts. There's also a VGA (0.3 megapixel) camera on the front-of the handset, taking advantage of Gingerbread' support for video calling. Other media features include; an integrated media player, an FM radio with RDS and 4GB of built-in storage, expandable to 32GB via microSD.

The phone may measure in at just 10.5mm-thick, buy buyers will also find Bluetooth 2.0, fast HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, GPS and a 1500mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 will be available in the UK from April.
