A Preview of the Samsung Galaxy Chat
The Galaxy Chat is the first handset in the world to feature both Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and a physical QWERTY keyboard. While much of the world has effectively been forced to adapt to touchscreen phones, the Galaxy Chat works using a combination of touchscreen technology and good old-fashioned analogue typing.
Among the features on the Galaxy Chat is a 3" QVGA touchscreen with a 133ppi resolution, 2MP camera and 4GB of onboard storage that can be expanded a further 32GB via microSD. Software features include Samsung's ChatON messenger, S Planner, and Quick Office Editor - allowing users to access common document formats such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint without the need to convert them.
Samsung have announced that the Galaxy Chat will be 'competitively priced', in effect meaning that it'll be aimed at the entry-level end of the smartphone market. It's set to come out in Spain in July, with a UK release date expected to be announced soon.
A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
