A Preview of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 comes as a high-end alternative to Samsung's similarly-sized Galaxy Tab 2, building on the success of its 5.3-inch counterpart.
Much like its smartphone sibling, the Galaxy Note 10.1 features a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, powering its 10.1-inch WXGA (1280 x 800) capacitive touchscreen. Expect Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Samsung's tablet-optimised TouchWiz UI, complete with support for the company's S Pen stylus. The tablet will ship with Adobe's Photoshop Touch and Ideas applications, making full use of the included pressure-sensitive pen.
Unlike Samsung's Note-branded smartphone, the Galaxy Note 10.1 also features multiscreen functionality, enabling you to watch videos or browse the web, while sketching a photo with Samsung's S Pen.
It may measure in at just 8.9mm thick, just the Note 10.1 gives you the choice of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of included storage, alongside both HSPA+ connectivity and the ability to make-use of a WiFi connection. This is paired with a bunch of pre-loaded multimedia features, including a 3.15 megapixel rear-facing camera, 2 megapixel webcam, 1080p HD video smarts, Adobe Flash support and a built-in media player with FM radio. A 7000mAh battery rounds things off, which should make for a long-lasting tablet.
A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
