Flaunting a fashionable appearance as an effect of its coordinated scheme of brilliant colours, the Samsung S5200 is an ultra slim and compact mobile phone that functions on slide mechanism. It is wrapped in red or blue casings with black coloured slide sections, which creates an impressive classy effect. It is made even more appealing to its users with its polyphonic and MP3 ring tones to alert users of messages and calls.

This mobile phone has full measurements of 104 x 49 x 10.9 millimetres. It is 97 grams inclusive of its fitted battery but does not feel flimsy with its sturdy build. It boasts of a 50.8-millimetre screen that displays ppicture wallpapers and other images in 16 million colours on 240 x 320 pixels. This mobile phone's user interface is characterised by a convenient icon type menu which enables users to glide through the handset's features with utmost ease.

This handset works on quad band coverage which GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900, which makes it an ideal communication gadget to accompany users who frequently travel. This handset's wide coverage may be best for roaming purposes, but its network reach is still dependent on its user's service provider.

In addition, the Samsung S5200 is packed with connectivity features. It is equipped with an XHTML and HTML WAP 2.0 Internet browser to allow users to navigate the World Wide Web and access their favourite Web sites with ease. This handset also comes with a USB facility to enable users to share or transfer data on their mobile phone to or from other handsets and devices such as printers, laptops, personal computers and other compatible devices. Users may also select the wireless Bluetooth facility for data and file sharing minus the hassle of entangled cables. This mobile phone supports GPRS and EDGE technologies, which makes Internet downloading and data transfer rates notably speedier.

The Samsung S5200 offers customary messaging services to enable users to constantly communicate with their contacts. This handset comes with SMS or text with Predictive Text, as well as MMS or multimedia messaging services. Users will also be able to access their e-mail using their mobile phone. This mobile phone also puts into neat order busy users' scheduling and planning tasks with its set of virtual organisers, which include a phone book for contact storage, a calendar, a clock, an alarm clock and a calculator. It also allows users to keep track of the calls they had made, missed or received using this handset's call log options. Hands-free calls are also supported by this mobile phone's pre-installed speaker phone.

Slim as it may appear, this handset is endowed with fun features to keep its owners entertained. Users who enjoy taking instant pictures will appreciate the pre-installed 3.2-Megapixel camera. This integrated snapping device comes with imaging features such as flash and an auto focus facility to capture subjects in a defined manner. Happy moments will be captured with the Smile Detection feature of this handset, which can also take shots in panoramic style. After each photo taking session, users may store the photos taken using this built-in camera in the integrated picture album. Aside from taking still photos, this also records videos in QVGA format. Users may also view their MPEG4 and H264 video footages on this handset's wide screen.

With music-loving owners in mind, Samsung endowed the S5200 handset with a top-of-the line music player that supports MP3, AAC and WMA audio formats. Listening to tracks on air is also possible with this handset's FM radio which has an RDS feature that enables users to receive from their preferred radio stations various information relating to current events, weather or sports news. Moreover, this handset transforms into an instant gaming gadget with its pre-loaded games in Java format that users can enjoy.

The Samsung S5200 has 50 Megabytes of internal memory. Using a MicroSD memory card, though, this storage can be expanded to up to 8 Gigabytes to accommodate more data. Users may speak with their contacts using this handset for 5 full hours. This mobile phone also has a standby capability of 300 hours when its battery is fully charged.

Some users say that this handset's lack of Wi-Fi support is disappointing, with most modern handsets that are sold in the market offering this feature. However, the Samsung S5200 pleases users for its perfectly acceptable photo results as well as an easy-to-navigate user interface.

this phone is a very good phone, loud speakers, good camera, quite a good memory, great touch screen phone for day to day use.

Very elegant looking phone but its lack of wi fi support is disappointing. I find there are numerous sites on javascript that i am unable to access so sadly i will be changing my phone.
