Editor's Review of the Tocco Ultra
Clad in a sleek casing that exudes a brushed metallic effect, the Samsung S8300 Tocco Ultra Edition is a fashionable handset that comes in various edging colours of red, black, blue and orange. It is a slider mobile phone that resembles the characteristics of the Samsung F480 Tocco. Measuring 110 x 51.5 x 12.7 millimetres and weighing 119 grams, it displays a colour screen that measures 71.12 millimetres. The sleek mobile phone also works on a touch-sensitive functionality for easier access to its features displayed on screen.
The mobile phone also covers quad band network and HSDPA 2100. It offers a wide coverage that is ideal for worldwide roaming, depending on the user's network provider.
The handset has an onboard XHTML and HTML Web browser that allows users to surf the World Wide Web. Connecting with other compatible devices such as laptops, printers and personal computers in order to share and transfer files is possible using the USB cable connection, or through the wireless Bluetooth support. The mobile phone is powered by the EDGE technology which supports speedier transfer rates. Moreover, it is a 3G-enabled mobile phone that supports HSDPA technology, ensuring its multitasking ability. As such, the handset supports high-speed Internet connectivity and downloading rates.
Users of the handset will be able to communicate with their contacts through its text and multimedia messaging services. Composing, receiving and sending email messages are also possible with the Samsung Tocco Ultra. A bonus feature of the mobile phone is its on-board GPS receiver complete with AGPS as destination or location guide.
Using a built-in microphone and a hands-free speaker system, users of the mobile phone can take calls in a hassle-free manner. The handset recognises voice commands and offers the voice dialing function. It also comes with a call log system that tracks calls that have been made, received or missed by its user.
A main attraction of the sleek handset is its built-in 8-Megapixel camera that takes photos over a resolution of 3264 × 2448 pixels. It has been integrated with a dual LED flash for background enhancement or to light up the darkest of surroundings for a well lit photo. In addition, this camera has a face and smile detector as well as an auto-focus feature to perfectly and clearly capture subjects. It also comes with a multi-shot support that allows users to easily take multiple shots. Users of the Samsung Tocco Ultra may store their photos in an album to be accessed anytime.
Besides photo taking support, the imaging focused mobile phone offers recording of moving footages at up to 30 frames per second over high quality sequence to freeze the fun moments. The integrated camera also supports video playback in popular formats such as H263, MPEG4, H264, DivX and WMV9. The mobile phone also offers geo tagging through its support for a built-in GPS receiver. The handset also supports video calling on the touch screen through a small camera situated at the front area of the handset.
The 3G mobile phone also comes in various music entertainment features that allow users to enjoy their favourite tracks on the handset. The mobile phone has a music player that supports AAC, MP3 and WMA formats. It also comes with a built-in radio feature for users to enjoy their favourite tracks over their preferred radio stations. In addition, its radio feature has an integrated Radio Data System which displays information on FM stations like artist, song titles and genre. The mobile phone has user friendly music features and dedicated controls which makes listening to songs a breeze for music lovers.
The mobile phone comes with a rechargeable fitted battery that offers four hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time. Users can use the handset's internal memory of 80 megabytes to save photos, contacts, and other files. The handset will expand its memory capability to up to 16 Gigabytes through a mIcroSD memory card.
Some users of the handset have raised complaints regarding its lack of a properly functioning flash feature. Owners were also put off by the touch screen's dubious interface. Nonetheless, the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition has continuously awed users with its brilliant features that compete with advanced handsets in the market.
User Reviews
Hiya, does anyone know how i keep the back light on when making a call? when making a call it flashes up the name then goes off so i cannot see anything on the screen or use the loud speaker
battery life is shocking!! other than that i really like the phone, it has some great features but for that reason alone i would definitely not reccomend it
i havnt actually recieved the phone yet it is due to arrive tommorow, but a few of my friends have it and they all say that it is great and very reliable. so i hope it is the same for me.
I bought it a couple of days ago. The responsiveness of the touch screen instantly blew me over, and so did its vibrant colours. It has the quintessential handset features but Samsung incorporated some twist into it by added extras that I actually liked. The camera's broad adjustment options and settings are really good. My only complaint is the sound quality during calls. I often end up asking people to repeat what they're saying. It has become really annoying because I do more calls than text with this handset. I've heard people whine about the same thing; I believe the manufacturer should pay attention to this issue.
I'm very happy with my Samsung Tocco Ultra. It has a good set of menus, an awesome camera and a user-friendly keypad. I was able to take pictures using this phone and viewed them on the gorgeous screen. When I had them printed out, I was looking at exactly the same pictures with great colours. Also, I just found recently that it allows me to create ?groups' for contacts, which is extremely useful. This handset really met, if not exceeded my expectations. I don't regret taking the time to get used to it, because eventually, it did work properly. You can't simply miss out on its great features just because you think familiarising them is too much of a bother.
I have been a Sony Ericsson fan since the invention of modern mobile phones. I took a plunge and picked the Tocco Ultra as it was the only phone my mum was willing to give me as a gift. I couldn't be happier that I chose this handset because it has awesome features! Its touch screen is snappier than I expected. It has almost everything I need in a neat little package.
I am one of those who try to make sure that I am getting the handset with quality entertainment features. Fortunately, the Tocco didn't disappoint me. I think that the macro mode of this handset's camera is superb. I photographed flowers that were at a distance of 12cm, and it came out with excellent colours and detailing. I tweaked the settings a bit for indoor photographs under standard household lights. My photos came out really good. The crisp colours of each shot always amaze me.
I like how the Tocco always looks polished because of its anti-scratch and anti-fingerprint feature. I am kind of keen with keeping my stuff spotless and I give the Tocco a perfect 10 for that. However, I still have some gripes with the phone's tendency to drop calls. Too bad, that problem is really a turn-off.
The Samsung Tocco Ultra has a screen rotating feature that works very well. I just have to be patient with turning it on, because it takes quite a while. I have also been charging its battery everyday. I'm still trying to figure out, though, if I got a slightly defective phone, because the rest of its features are excellent. The integrated camera works really well and its touch interface is addictive. Among all others that I have had, this phone got the most compliments from my mates. They think this phone looks awesome and has high-tech features.
Well, I got this phone 6 days ago and thought it looked terrific. Can you believe how I felt when its touch screen froze the first minute I used it? Talk about first impression! I had tried making calls using this handset and the sound was terrible. I wonder where all those odd vibrating sensations came from. My major complaint though, is this phone's bad reception in my house, which I've never experienced with the other 7 phones I've had before. I suggest you spare yourself from the hassle and don't buy this *%$£. I'm sending it back today and going back to Nokia.
This is a truly sexy handset. The first time I saw it I thought it looked more beautiful than other 3G phones. The touch screen works really great too (I had expected less, actually). Fortunately, I haven't had any problem with texting. I think that the drag-and-drop widgets in this phone are truly innovative. It would have been better if it had with screen savers and themes. That's not that much of an issue with me, though, because my photos are bursting with vibrant colours!
Does anyone know how to work with speed dials in the Samsung Tocco Ultra? Well, yes, it is filled with all the great specs, but I've spent the last two weeks trying to figure out how to set up voice or speed dials, and had no single luck at it! I mean, does this phone even have that feature? I have had a great time using its camera and enjoyed its music player, but I do need some answers regarding the speed dial problem.
The Samsung Tocco Ultra has a highly sensitive touch screen. That means it goes too fast only if you push it too fast! I have learned to handle it properly and it works really well. Do a thorough navigation and learn both the fun and practical features. I use this phone for checking my email, taking and viewing pictures, recording and playing video footages and listening to music. This phone also serves as my alarm clock, records my daily schedules at work and allows me to view most documents. What else can I say? I really enjoy using this phone.
I have fallen in love with the Samsung Tocco Ultra. I mean, how can anyone not? It is a lovely handset with all the cool features. I expected less of this phone, but I actually find it both sleek and practical. Samsung has features that I could use for work, such as its document viewer and scheduler. It has not served simply as a texting gadget. Its underpowered battery problem is something I can deal with. Overall, I can say that the good stuff in this phone definitely outweigh the bad. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
The look and feel of the phone is excellent . Bright crisp display very solid feel to the phone ,camera is excellent . I few little quirks ,already mentioned in other reviews ,but I can live with them .
Why 4 out of 10 you ask ? The battery life is atrocious , Samsung will replace it free of charge for another underpowered one . And ,secondly , Samsung Support is non existent , so if you want to spend your time banging your head against a wall with them ,go for it
This mobile phone really feels very durable and solid. I love the scratch-resistant touch screen and frames of this handset. I also find the slide mechanism very smooth. The touch screen is quite good as well. I think the camera is really great! I snapped some pictures and got really good outputs with brilliant colours. Perhaps the only real setback is its volume for calls. The handset's interface and advanced features are not for the impatient, because it can be a bit complicated sometimes. Overall, I still think it is an excellent phone and would choose it over the others.
In a week, this handset has driven me nuts. I often spend 15 minutes for typing in a URL and the touch screen simply becomes unresponsive. Internet browsing is definitely a no-no when using the Samsung Tocco Ultra. I was actually drawn to it because of how lovely it looks. It also boasts of features that seem very useful. Even if I can say that it looks awesome, I won't recommend it to anyone. I'm no expert, but I definitely had enough of it. My friends actually think it's funny how I stay away from Samsung phones on display!
For me, the best feature of the Tocco is its built-in music player. I like it because it plays most audio file formats. The huge internal memory and the option to add more capacity allow me to store thousands of music tracks that I can enjoy listening to everyday! The Tocco also comes with a feature that identifies a song that is currently playing. Its integrated FM radio is a bonus. I love it.
I like the Samsung Tocco Ultra's integrated music player. It works like my good old MP3 player that allows me to sort my music files according to genre, artist or albums. I listen to my favourite tracks everyday using this phone and never had serious problems with it. For a non-pro with phones like me, it works smoothly enough. I think it is a good alternative to having a separate handset and a music player. I think this phone is great and I am very happy with it.
This phone excels with its file browser. It's very user friendly for the non-techie types like me. It's also excellent for viewing photos. I think that the Samsung Tocco Ultra has the sharpest colours ever! The same goes for the sound quality it offers. I never had any problems with transferring all my favourite songs from the PC to this handset. In fact, this phone has become my constant music listening device. I also think it is fabulously designed! It has a sophisticated touch that pleases the pros, but can be cool enough for a much younger crowd. I believe Samsung really nailed it this time!
I think that the Tocco's 3G feature is awesome. Most of the time, I have been using this phone for Web browsing. Its HSDPA implementation at 7.2 Mbps enables me to download at speeds faster than my broadband connection at home! This makes the Tocco a remarkable platform for mobile Internet. Its large touch screen with sharp colours and a dedicated Google application are definitely a plus. I am also very satisfied with its overall design. It looks really good and is well-built. I have to admit that this handset beats my old iPhone in almost every aspect.
I am not very easy to please when it comes to mobile phones, but I think this phone edges out all other handsets because it is well-built, has several useful features and is easy to use. I am satisfied with nearly everything about this handset! It certainly is not flawless, given some minor phone technicalities that may need a bit more time to tinker. However, as I said, I find it both pretty and practical as a whole. I am not a Samsung fan, but I love the Samsung Tocco Ultra.
I thought of the iPhone 3G as the best gadget in the world, but I was delighted to see the Samsung Tocco Ultra! It looks great and is much slimmer than my last phone, but has much more features. The GPS application is something new to me, so I grabbed the manual and learned how to use it -- and it actually worked! I am in my late 40s and had no idea about all those other features! Eventually though, I found it to be generally user-friendly. I think it is the finest phone ever. I intend to keep it for a very long time. Well done, Samsung!
I am a photo buff, so I always check out the camera first before I get a new handset. I think the panorama option of the Samsung Tocco Ultra worked great at giving me a wider image. I also love the backlight, automatic flash and LED features that help illuminate scenes. I also was not too sure about its touch tone feature, but I found it surprisingly easy to use. Trust me, I am not being biased just because it's a gift (thanks Mum!) It is as brilliant as it is!
Some of the top mobile phone features, and its beautiful design is icing on the cake. What I really like about the Tocco is the interplay of the practical and the fun stuff. It's not at all work with standard text and call features, but it's not some play gadget either. I like the haptic technology very much. Also, you don't get an integrated camera that's simply put in there; you can tell it really works. Its music player also has great audio quality. Its organiser tools are awesome -- I have used them for almost everything.
I am the type who easily grows impatient with mobile phones that give me a hard time, just like the Tocco. This phone, however, kept me interested because it has a great set of features. The large touch screen really grabbed my attention, and I was surprised to learn that it has a very user-friendly interface. The music player was good, the GPS is interesting and the large storage capacity will keep all of my videos, photos and music files. At first, I thought it had a crappy and complicated issue with its lack of corrective option for texting, but it's actually fairly easy to get used to. The Tocco is one of the handsets that I kept with me for over 8 weeks.
At first glance, I thought that it looked really amazing. Its beautiful design was simply enticing and oozing with sophistication. It also seemed like a very reliable handset. I used it and liked most of its features. I found the touch screen very good. The camera is easy to use, and I enjoy the great audio quality of the music player. I was, however, a little disappointed with its battery life. I think the original Tocco gave me some 11 hours of music playback from a fully charged battery, but this Tocco Ultra couldn't go anywhere near that. It only gave me some 5 hours and 40 minutes of music playback. That can be a little disappointing for users like me who love music, so I make sure it's running on full battery everyday.
Well, let me start by saying that the handset looks really fantastic. At first, I thought was nothing more than a physically beautiful Samsung creation. I was dubious about buying it because of negative reviews from some users. However, I was drawn by the Tocco's interesting features and went for it anyway. I actually think that it has a very responsive touch screen feature. I had some texting concerns the moment I tried it, but I got the hang of it two days later. I think it will work for you as much as it does for me.
One of this handset's impressive features is definitely its built-in camera. It has a resolution that is almost comparable to most digital compact cameras sold in the market today. The pictures I took using this handset came alive with those wonderful colours. In fact, I took it to several parties and just snapped, and as expected, the photo outputs were very good. I also like the video recording feature it offers -- top quality! Yes, there are some minor flaws, but I am very happy with this handset. I bring it with me everywhere. Get the Tocco and be amazed!
I bought the Samsung Tocco Ultra for its stylish look that really stands out. I was surprised to find that it has multiple features that my old one didn't have. It's wide, beautiful display screen with the sharpest colours is also a main attraction. I just got it three days ago, so I am still checking out this sleek handset. So far, I have been pleased with what I find everyday. The camera is in good shape and I enjoy taking pictures. I have also done a few video recordings using this phone and I am impressed with its playback quality. This phone is very impressive.
I bought my Samsung Tocco Ultra last week and I have not had problems using its applications so far. I like its 8MP camera, slender build and other features that are easy to use. I think seasoned Samsung users like me will love this handset. For those who have used only Nokia, Ericsson or other phones, bear in mind that the only remedy for your discontent over the Samsung phone is patience, Be open to a few usage adjustments, familiarise the functionalities and in no time, you'll find yourself enjoying its practical and fun features.
I think the Tocco Ultra deserves the good reviews it is getting. I purchased this mobile phone 5 days ago, and it keeps my curiosity up as I uncover its useful features everyday. Obviously, the Tocco really looks superb. More importantly, though, it has large system fonts, which makes it an ideal mobile phone for users with visual disabilities. Well done, Samsung.
I'd say the Samsung Tocco Ultra offers great picture quality, but I am disappointed with it. I wonder why I end up pressing the camera button forever to snap a picture. I also didn't get the shots that I wanted because the camera was so slow at capturing the moments as they were. The rest of the features are good, but not as great as others would say. My N95 worked better for me, to be honest. I had hoped that Samsung put in all those great-sounding features without compromising ease of use, but it did.
This handset looks amazing and is brilliantly designed. Unfortunately, it has two serious flaws on its calls feature. One is that it is suddenly dropping calls, which really annoys me. The other problem is the poor voice quality. I have asked three of my mates who also own the Tocco and one of them experienced these problems as well. Someone told me that the real problem may be the 'firmware version' on my phone. I don't know what that means exactly, but it just makes me want to get rid of this handset. I would have picked Sony Ericsson instead had I known these problems.
Its touch screen orientation is really a plus. It's something I expected on a high-end handset like this. I also like its GPS application and 3G connection with HSDPA power of up to 7.2Mbps. The camera works great for me, and so does the music player. I have not listened to any music using my old mobile phones, but I enjoy them all with the Tocco. I expected that it had Wi-Fi support, but it doesn't. Hopefully the next upgrade from Samsung will ultimately have what this handset lacks.
I've been using this phone for almost 7 weeks already and I think it is fantastic. This is my first ever touch screen handset and I found it fairly easy to get used to this technology. Scrolling on the Tocco's menus is faster than those on the other phones I have owned. It is definitely simpler and much easier to go through this phone's features. I also like the vibration feedback when I touch a button, which tells me that it has recognised a command. I am very picky user, but I am impressed with this device. Samsung should be proud!
This phone is awesome. Unlike other users, I haven't had complaints regarding its sound piece during calls. I always hear the voice from the other end of the line very clearly. Also, the camera is of decent quality. I must admit that it isn't as great as my SE 850i, but it is much better than most built-in cameras. I don't understand those complaints about the Tocco's unresponsive touch screen. I mean, its haptic technology requires only the slightest touch to get it to work! I also never had any dropped calls since I used it 4 weeks ago.
Sadly, the texting woes are quite true. I've been unable to insert smiley icons into my text messages. I also can't use themes or apply screen savers. I don't really mind though, because I love this phone's little drag-and-drop widgets and the superb touch screen interface! The Tocco is one of the best handsets out there!
I thought this handset looked stunning and had the clearest colours. HOWEVER, Samsung should not be proud of its touch screen. I have never been more frustrated with texting. I mean, how can a handset not have a back button? Well, perhaps if you are not in a rush when texting and can spend 10 minutes trying not to make mistakes when typing your message, this might work for you. For busy people like me, though, it can be utterly exasperating. The Samsung Tocco Ultra is definitely NOT the best phone there is. I'm giving this one a sweet bye-bye.
The Samsung Tocco Ultra is a beautiful handset, alright, but there may be some things that make me want to sell it on eBay. Texting using the keypad is awful. It's funny how it expects you not to make mistakes with texting. Miss a letter, and you don't go back to retype or sneak in a few characters. It gives you an option, though: delete and retype an entire word! How frustrating is that? I REALLY hope someone makes some decent enhancements for the messaging feature of this phone.
I like how the widget bar on the main display of the Samsung Tocco Ultra can be customised, just like you can with your computer screens. You can choose to bookmark Web sites and constantly display them for quick access. Zooming or scrolling through the touch screen is a real breeze. Unlike other phones, the Tocco's organiser tools tell you that this handset isn't simply a device that you use to call, text and play! Most of all, I love its clear and vibrant colours! This phone serves me well so I give it a perfect 10. Good job, Samsung.
I have to say that the built-in camera is nothing less than excellent. You can view the pictures in the most vivid colours. I also think it has a very decent sound quality. It is not comparable with iPod, of course, but its settings are impressive enough for an integrated phone camera. If you are into touch screen handsets, the Tocco is definitely worth a shot.
Is this how a touch screen handset is supposed to work? I find texting difficult with the Samsung Tocco Ultra. My friends think it's a beautiful phone, but my head goes, Why don't you try texting using that? I don't know; I might be a little bit impatient. Otherwise, it's a great phone with a nice set of features. I love its large screen, its 8MP camera, audio quality and that helpful GPS feature. I think I will be a perfectly happy Samsung user once I solve that texting glitch. I might seek out some help from skilled Samsung users. Wish me luck!
The Samsung Tocco Ultra is a totally lovely handset with a wonderful touch interface. However, I find it too complicated to use. I guess I may need to use it often and get myself acquainted with its features, as well as the great applications it supports. However, I honestly can't believe it lacks voice dial or speed dial. It also doesn't have navigation keys. I have had 5 handsets which all had shortcut buttons for easier access of their features, and I can't believe this one doesn't! I would have been addicted to it otherwise!
I love the Samsung Tocco Ultra for its unique design and sharp screen colours! Most of its features are great too. I have to agree, though, that its built-in camera is quite slow. I had to press the camera key for a little while until I was able to actually shoot, so it isn't suitable for capturing a moment. It doesn't replace your good old camera. Despite this, I still think that it is a great handset. It has really amazing features that seem to be custom-fit for every lifestyle. I have always liked Samsung and I won't trade it for any mobile phone in the market.
For me, the superb screen colours, the fine build and the brilliant design are the best features of the Tocco. Unfortunately, I can't do without texting, and I believe the Tocco is not user friendly in this part! It seems too easy to press the wrong button and you can never go back to make corrections. The touch screen also makes it impossible to text without looking at the screen. I can actually text an entire message without having to look at the keypad, so this really frustrates me. I really would have kept this handset if I wasn't a huge texter.
I have owned a lot of mobile phones since the 80s, including those brick-sized things! The Tocco is my first ever Samsung phone, but it is one of the best I have had. I really like its camera because it is easy to use. Its multiple photo editing tools, settings and technologies impress me. It also produces pictures in realistic and vivid colours which I almost always end up printing out. I have some issues when it comes to texting using this phone just like everyone else, but I think it pays to be a little patient about it. I am still learning how to use most of its features, but so far, I am highly pleased with it.
I have been using my Samsung Tocco Ultra for about a month now and I am very pleased with it. It's got a different set of applications that make my old Nokia phone seem rubbish. The touch screen is something I love about this gadget. Some people say it took them time to get used to the handset's functionalities, but I never had any problem. If this is the first Samsung phone you got your hands into, it can be a little frustrating to not know how it works. My advice: stick with it, and you will get used to it in no time.
This mobile phone frustrates me. It has an awful battery life, lasting less than a day on several occasions; the phone switches itself off in the middle of replying to a text or making a call, and says it needs to be recharged! It isn't a very 'mobile' handset because you will need to ration its battery and hope it will last until you get home. Both its physical and on-screen keypads are difficult to use. Even the touch screen is pretty hard to navigate! Trust me, if you want a phone that gets you things quickly done, then don't buy the Samsung Tocco Ultra. It has great looks, fabulous screen colours and other features, but don't' these amazing aesthetics deceive you. In fact, this phone slows me down so I am not giving it another chance. I am sending it back.
The Tocco is a great phone. Its drag-and-drop interface is clear and bright. That widget which I can draw out from the side is a clever idea. I thought the haptic feedback was strange, but I learned to adjust it along with the volume. I've heard about difficulties regarding the camera, but my trick is to hold the camera button a little halfway until it focuses, before I snap. The music player and FM radio both have excellent sound. The handset does not support themes but it's a minor flaw. Overall, I have no complaints. I am generally pleased with this handset, and I'm pretty sure you will too.
This is definitely a good-looking handset with a beautiful interface. It also feels quite solid. At first, I thought it was a complicated phone with all the technical features and the applications it supports, but it's actually very easy to use. This handset has been with me for a week yet, but I am already starting to get used to it. The only downside, perhaps, is its underpowered battery. I take my charger with me everywhere, but it's not just a minor flaw. Other than that, my friends and I love my Samsung Tocco Ultra!
I have been a Samsung user for a year now, and I think my new Samsung Tocco Ultra is by far the easiest to use even with its wide array of features. It also has the most gorgeous design and the most vibrant colours, which are perfect for viewing images, photos and videos. Its functionalities may be a little challenging for some people but familiarise each feature and you won't go wrong with this handset. My friends think so too! I still recommend it over other 3G phones out there.
This is an outstanding handset! Well, I did my homework before getting my hands on this phone, and I am happy that I decided to buy it. I thought it would take me forever to get used to texting using this phone, but I was able to send text messages in about two to three days. The widget orientation is really cool. I like most of its features that are really clever. I had a bit of a problem using the Tocco Web browser, because it almost always freezes whenever I type in a URL. I was able to fix this though, by downloading Opera Mini 4.1. It has become my default browser and I've not had any complaint since then.
I think Samsung did an amazing job designing the Samsung Tocco Ultra. The best feature for me, though, is its video playback. I was able to download standard definition content online, and was able to play it back using the phone without having to convert it. It spared me from preparing the videos for final viewing and played them on excellent, fluid quality. Video recording is excellent too, using the standard speed of 30fps. I can do slow motion recording as well with 120fps. This handset also makes video footage editing a breeze with its uncomplicated editing options. What's more, I can save the video files in its internal memory, or in its 16-Gigabyte extended capacity. I think I'm going to keep this handset for a long time.
Personally, I find each feature of the Samsung Tocco Ultra really simple to use. What I like best is its user-friendly camera. It has high-standard specs but it's definitely the mobile phone for all. Plus, unlike others who can't stand its technical side, I find it very useful for work with its organiser tools. I also got good pictures using its camera. I can't complain because it definitely is the best phone I have had by far. I am particularly keen about spending, but I think I got my money's worth with this phone.
This Tocco phone is very sexy, BUT I am not keeping it. First of all, texting requires a while to get used to. It's funny that I've spent a few weeks learning to text using this phone. Also, the Internet browser is not very good. It tends to become very buggy. I also got very blurry pictures using its camera. It is an awful mobile phone. I've tried user-friendly features of several LG and Nokia phones, so I don't think I should spend any more time on this one. It's not worth it.
I don't understand why the Samsung Tocco Ultra doesn't work for some people. If you have not been using handsets with the haptic feature, you can't expect to find this phone easy to use. The same goes for the rest of its high-end specifications. Instead of whining, you may want to give yourself a little bit more time and you'll see how helpful this phone is. Overall, I find this piece of device technically challenging at first, but it is definitely worth it. It may even be the best among the 4 handsets I have owned to date. Be patient, people!
I really like this mobile phone for its stunning appearance and nice features. The disappointing fact, however, is that it has really low battery life. That is a serious drawback for me because I always travel in my work. It's also unreal how this phone routinely cuts off my calls! It's like I could say a quick hello, and then the call just suddenly drops regardless of signal strength. It's not helping me in these aspects at all. I have to say, though, that the rest of its features are very good. I'd like to keep this handset so I am very interested to know how I can solve my problem with calls being dropped.
I hardly notice the Samsung Tocco Ultra when it's inside my pocket. It is really slim and compact that you won't believe the advanced features it has! I found the touch screen really easy to use -- and I have never used touch screen phones in my life! I also like that it allows me to customise tones for calls and text alerts. Other users may be right about some annoying text glitches when using the phone, but it's a great piece of device to use.
Most people I know complain about how difficult it is to navigate their way through the handset. The interface is inherent of Samsung, so I won't be surprised if most of them are first-time Samsung owners, just as I am. I tell you, though, that I was able to figure it out without much help. It was basically learning by trial and error. It can be a bit frustrating at times, especially when you want to get things done quickly. Texting can be a real pain, but I totally enjoyed learning it! Get this phone and I guarantee you won't regret it!
When I first picked up the Tocco, it looked like the customary touch screen slab. In terms of design, however, the phone's lacquered frame is tough and durable. The anti-smudge coat really rocks! It keeps my handset always tidy. Features-wise, I am pleased with the user-friendly interface, the GPS, the camera and the music player. The organiser tools also prove to be very useful. I am pleased because it has almost all the characteristics that I look for in a handset. I think it may be one of Samsung's best.
In a heartbeat, I would say the Samsung Tocco Ultra gave me the best photo printouts among all the other phones I have tried. Its screen has great colour display which is excellent for viewing the pictures. The rest of its features are also good. My dad has even used it to check his emails and view PDF documents. I use its music player every night and its alarm feature wakes me up every morning! I am happy with this phone. It's a really fantastic phone. Two thumbs up!
I was delighted with the Tocco's integrated camera, until I learned its recurring problem -- lag. The camera takes a while to process a picture. I frequently get smeared images of people, because the camera hasn't captured anything after a click and people will have already moved. To some people, this may be a tiny bit of a problem, but this is major issue for photo buffs like me. Apart from that, I think the other features are great. Even the Tocco itself is picture-perfect!
I am giving this handset an A, because it has really brilliant features. Like any novice, I found the phone to be complicated and messed up with my typing a lot. It was a real pain at first! However, I though I couldn't simply give up on this handset without really knowing what it could offer me. I read everything about it and even had a seasoned Samsung owner help me figure out some of the odd, yet interesting features. The texting was very challenging for a while. Five weeks later, I think it was all worth it!
The Samsung Tocco Ultra has lots of features that are customisable, and I like that. I also think it has a very responsive camera and produces really good pictures. I also use my own 3.5mm headphones and listen to tracks with excellent bass reproduction without that annoying equalizer. It feels really solid and looks stunning. Apart from its really weak battery life, I find it a fairly decent handset. I have owned it for a month now and it makes me happy enough. This, in fact, may be one of the best Samsung phones I have used.
Seriously what everyone else says is true. The Samsung Tocco Ultra is an awesome phone, second only to the iPhone and so much cheaper because of all the cashback deals that you can't get with the iPhone. Some of the menus are a bit weird but once you get used to it it's great. Love the email program and it has fast internet, although that might be because of T-Mobile.
I just got this with like £100 cashback. So surprised that there are great deals like this when the phone is so new and so awesome. Does everything it says on the tin and has some really cool applications pre installed like the video recorder and photo software.
This phone looks stunning. This AMOLED screen makes a visible difference and the menu has lots of great widgets and a fab photo browser which works amazingly with the touch screen. I love Samsung.
I don't know what they mean by a double flash, but it's still bad at taking photos at night. Everything else about the Tocco Ultra is good though.
This handset has almost everything you could want. Great touch screen and also a number keypad, 8 megapixel camera with double flash and video recording, HSDPA speed internet, MP3 player, FM radio and GPS navigation. There isn't much it doesn't have, but here's the short list of things I would have liked to see, Wi-FI internet, larger internal memory (although you can expand with a microSD card) and a screen that reaches the edge of the phone.
I've only had this for a week but I seriously want to rave about the camera for a while. 8 megapixels, autofocus, face detection to help know where to focus, digital zoom and finally a flash that's bright enough to use when it's actually dark. The quality is so good and I've been uploading photos to Picasa straight from the phone.
The Samsung Tocco Ultra is all about looks. The screen is super high quality, the design of the phone is very smart and quite cool also, and the menus are a bit flashy. But it takes a while to find your way around. You can set up shortcuts, but there are lots of things that should be one click that aren't, like composing a new text message or changing elements of your profile. It does all work really well, but the menus and submenus need fixing.
I just upgraded my Tocco to the Tocco Ultra and I'm impressed and happy I made the switch. The screen is a much better quality and I'm sure the number pad would be good, if I hadn't got so used to the touch screen. And it's got GPS navigation and an awesome 8 megapixel digital camera that's even better than my proper camera. The interface is also easier, a bit more like the LG and Apple widget buttons.
I have just got this phone on contract and have to say this the best phone i have had in years BUY BUY BUY the camera is amazing and it has a television on it ... amazing so easy to use
