A Preview of the Samsung Tocco Lite 2
The Samsung Tocco Lite 2 is the sequel to Samsung's best-selling budget smartphone, the original Tocco Lite, which sold over 30 million units worldwide.
If the handset's specs are anything to go by, the Tocco Lite 2 looks set to continue the success of its popular predecessor. At the forefront of the phone there' s a 3-inch QVGA (320 x 240) touchscreen, skinned in a slimmed-down version of Samsung's TouchWiz UI. This equips the phone with some of the functionality of the firm's high-end Galaxy line-up, including multiple customisable homescreens and social networking integration.
Social networking is the main focus of the Samsung Tocco Lite 2, which boasts Samsung's newly-announced ChatON service. This included app lets users instant message across multiple platforms, and comes paired with MSN, Yahoo! and Google Talk. Of course, you'll also find built-in Facebook and Twitter applications, enabling you to stay in the loop while on the move.
On the media front, the handset sports a slightly-upgraded 3.2 megapixel camera, which although lacking in flash, comes with Fixed Focus support and the ability to shoot QVGA footage at 25 frames per second. Other features include a built-in media player, an FM radio with RDS and up to 16GB of expandable memory. You'll also find a decent 1000mAh battery under the hood, which means you'll be able to last a full day on a single charge.
The Samsung Tocco Lite 2 will be available in the UK from March, although its pricing and release date is still to be confirmed.
