A Preview of the Sony Xperia Play 2
The original PlayStation Phone, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, struggled to set the world alight, and was ultimately one of 2011's biggest flops. Saying that, Sony are reportedly working on a sequel sans Ericsson branding: the Sony Xperia Play 2.
According to a leaked photo and specs, the phone will sport a more angular chassis than its last-gen sibling, housing a larger 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 HD touchscreen. This, of course, will be paired with a slide-out set of PlayStation keys, which will feature a light-up strip along the bottom.
While it's still unclear whether the rumours are true there's talk that the Xperia Play 2 will also pack an improved 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, an 8.1 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video and Exmor R sensor, and access to Sony's PlayStation Suite.
Details on the handset's availability are still TBC.
A full review will be published here once the phone has been released.
