About T-Mobile

T-Mobile was originally founded in 1990, although back then it was known as Mercury One2One, the world's first GSM 1800 mobile network. The network was purchased by Deutsch Telekom in 1999, and was rebranded in T-Mobile as 2002.

More recently, France Telecom and Deutsch Telecom revealed plans to merge Orange and T-Mobile to create the UK's largest mobile operator - with an aim to increase its 37 percent share of the mobile market. This merger was approved in March 2010, and the new company was named Everything Everywhere. To date, the company boasts approximately 28 million customers.

As well as operating as part of the UK's largest mobile network, T-Mobile has been known to bring own-branded mobiles to the market. The range from budget PAYG phones such as the T-Mobile Vibe E200, to high-end Androids like the 2012 T-Mobile Vivacity.
