Looking sleek in its black casing, the T-Mobile Vairy Text has the full measurements of 106 x 59 x 14 millimetres and tips the scale at 103 grams. It has a TFT screen that measures 60.96 millimetres and displays photos and other images in 256,000 colours on 320 x 240 pixels. Right below this TFT screen is a full QWERTY keyboard. For navigation purposes, this mobile phone comes with a central navigation key. To enable users to personalise their call, message and other alerts, this handset has pre-installed MP3 ringtones that users may choose from.

Supporting tri-band network, the T-Mobile Vairy Text works over GSM 850, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900. It has a pre-installed WAP 2.0 xHTML browser to enable users to check out their favourite Web sites or do online transactions. To enable file transfers, this handset has a USB facility on which to connect laptops, scanners, other mobile phones, printers or personal computers. This mobile phone is also equipped with Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP technology, which allows file sharing between compatible gadgets that are up to 10 metres apart. Its built-in GPRS Class 10 and EDGE Class 10 technologies boost data sharing and Internet downloading rates.

This mobile phone supports messaging services of SMS or text and MMS or multimedia messaging. Its Internet connectivity allows users to check their e-mail accounts right on this handset. In addition, this handset comes with a set of organiser tools to assist users in their daily tasks and remind them of their schedules. Specifically, it has a phone book that stores details of a maximum of 800 contacts, vibration option, calculator and voice memo. This handset also functions as a document viewer, supporting Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and PDF formats.

To allow users to take or make calls with ease, this mobile phone has a built-in speakerphone. It also records its user's 10 missed and received calls, as well as dialled numbers, through the call log option.

Recognising that fun features are essential in mobile phone use, the T-Mobile Vairy Text is integrated with the fun stuff. Users will snap away with this handset's 2-Megapixel camera that shoots photos on 1600 x 1200 pixels. This built-in camera also supports footage recording. Users may view their videos on this handset's display screen in MP4, H.264 and H.263 formats. Entertainment also comes in the form of a built-in stereo FM radio with RDS technology. This feature lets users enjoy their favourite tunes while receiving information on current events, sports or weather right on this handset.

The T-Mobile Vairy Text also doubles as a music player that lets users enjoy their favourite tunes in MP3 and eAAC+ formats. As an alternative, an FM radio facility is built in this handset to allow users to listen to their favourite tunes on air while receiving information on current events, weather and sports. Moreover, this handset has pre-installed games in Java format.

This mobile phone has an internal memory that supports storage of up to 20 Megabytes of data. Using a microSD memory card, this storage capacity may be expanded to as much as 4 Gigabytes. A standard Li-Ion 850 mAh powers this handset, which offers users talk time of up to 8 hours, and up to 400 hours of standby time.

While richly endowed with practical and fun functionalities, this mobile phone still gains criticisms from unhappy users due to its lack of Wi-Fi WLAN technology and 3G support. On the other hand, happy owners of the T-Mobile Vairy Text commend this handset for its clear display and good quality of photo outputs. More happy owners point out that despite its simplistic design, this mobile phone addresses modern handset owners' needs from a text messaging point of view. Text-focused users particularly contend that this handset is highly efficient for texting. Happy users also note that this mobile phone's simple features make it less complicated and eminently useful.

I have had this phone for over 6 months now, it is an amazing phone and great value. It is just as good as the blackberry at a fraction of the cost in my opinion. It is excellent for emailing and surfing the web, it has an opera function which allows users to view full web pages and is much faster then normal mobile connections. It also has some fun games which are played by tilting the phone which then moves the ball etc... of what your playing. Its battery life is good and it is a very hardy phone with an easy to use keyboard once your use to it.

Sound and camera are great. its just like a blackberry but cheaper and without bbpin or bbmesseneger. the scroll at the side is brilliant for the internet. My problem is, is the phone freezes for a minute when you turn is on and try to do something. music can be put on the phone but after downloading it, you have to wait more time to transfer it from your files to the music player. videos are also transfered into the music player aswell with the songs, which is annoying because one minute you are listening to a song the next you are listening to the background of a video. the good side to this is you can delete the videos from the music player without removing them from your files. the phone has motion sensor which is great for the games and mp3.
