About Virgin
Vigin Mobile is a global network, and has operations in Australia, Canada, India, Greece and the UK, as well as here in the UK. The operator, a subsidiary of Virgin Media, was formed in 1999 as a private venture between One2One and the Virgin Group, before rebranding under the Virgin name in February 3007.
The company was the worlds first Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MWNO), which means it does not maintain its own network. Instead, it uses the existing network of Everything Everywhere (Orange and T-Mobile).
As well as providing network services, the company has also brought Virgin-branded mobiles to market. These include handsets such as the Virgin VM820 and VM560, budget phones which are sold exclusively through Virgin pay as yo go.
