Editor's Review of the VM560
With its chunky form-factor and candybar styling the Alcatel-made Virgin VM560 may not look anything special. However, with its sub ten-pounds price-tag and surprisingly good features, could this be Virgin's best cheap phone yet?
We may not be wow-ed by the VM560's classic design, but it's certainly not a bad looking phone. Available in either Black or Pink flavours, the phone touts the typically-plastic candybar form-factor, housing its impressively-comfortable alphanumeric keypad and pint-sized display.
In terms of features, this phone may surprise you. Once you've managed to navigate around the miniscule screen, you'll find integrated Facebook and Twitter applications - a rare feature to find on such a cheap handset. There may not be any 3G connectivity, but the cheap-as-chips phone does come equipped with WiFi onboard, an ever rarer feature to find on a phone of the caliber. Admittedly, browsing and networking is pretty cramped, but we're impressed that this handset can do it at all.
Those aren't the only impressive features. The VM560 also comes touting a built-in MP3 player with FM radio, and up to 8GB of expandable memory. All in all, not bad for a tenner.
