A Preview of the ZTE Libra
ZTE has recently announced that it'll be bringing its affordable handsets directly to Blighty, which means you'll no longer have to opt for network-locked models. The ZTE Libra will be one of the first of these handsets to hit the UK, and will supposedly arrive sporting a "competitive price-tag".
The Libra will also arrive running the latest version of Google's OS: Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread). This'll equip it with all the latest UI refinements, alongside support for Google's Talk application. Much like the flagship Nexus S handset its 3.5-inch (480 x 800) touchscreen will come 'un-skinned', which means you won't be kept waiting for those next-gen Android updates.
On its rear, the ZTE Libra sports a 5 megapixel autofocus camera, although its lack of flash ahd HD video means its not on par with its big-name rivals. However, you'll also find the usual Android media goodies, including a built-in music player, an FM radio, and access to the Android Market.
Other specifications include a 600MHz processor, up to 32GB of expandable memory, and all the usual connectivity options (Bluetooth, HSDPA, WiFi).
The handset's pricing and release date is still to be confirmed, although it's expected to drop in Blighty in Summer 2011.
