A Preview of the ZTE Tureis

Yep, another Android QWERTY. You know what they say; wait for a bus and they all come at once.

In a bid to take on the likes of the Motorola Pro and LG Optimus Pro, ZTE has revealed its very own take on the BlackBerry with the oddly named ZTE Tureis.

The handset comes sporting the usual 2.6-inch (320 x 240) capacitive screen paired with a four-row portrait QWERTY keypad. There's also an optical trackpad in the centre, alongside four touch-sensitive shortcut keys.

As is the norm with ZTE handsets, the Tureis comes running Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS, although it's likely to be bumped up to Gingerbread before it reaches the UK. This equips the smartphone with all the usual Android goodies, including Gmail, Search and multiple customizable homescreens.

ZTE has also confirmed that it'll arrive 'un-skinned', sporting the same vanilla interface as the Google Nexus S. This also means you won't be kept waiting for updates, giving ZTE 'one up' on the big name manufacturers.

Media-wise the Tureis sports a 3.2 megapixel camera, alongside a built-in media player and integrated radio. It'll also come with up to 32GB of expandable memory, plenty of storage for all of your tunes.

Other specifications an 800MHz processor, Bluetooth, and HSDPA and WiFi speeds.

The ZTE Tureis will be available directly from ZTE, with an estimated price tag of around £145. The handset's exact release date is still to be confirmed, although it's expected to drop in August 2011.
